Lockmaster, Charlie Weight with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District, explains what it takes to keep America’s oldest continuously used lock and dam operational.
Located in Elizabeth, Pa., Lock and Dam 3 was completed in 1907 and is more than twice its prospected usable life. It consists of two lock chambers and a fixed crest dam.
