Colonel Robert L. Perryman Jr.

Chief of Staff

Col. Rob Perryman assumed the duties of Chief of Staff, 75th U.S. Army Reserve Innovation Command, headquartered in Houston, Aug. 11, 2023. He entered the Louisiana Army National Guard as a Supply Specialist in May 1986. After achieving the rank of specialist, Col. Perryman transferred to the Army Reserve in July 1991. In 1998, Col. Perryman received a direct commission as second lieutenant in the Finance Corps.

Prior to his current assignment, Col. Perryman served as Executive Officer, U.S. Army Futures Command, headquartered in Austin, Texas. His previous assignments include Deputy Director, Office, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1 in the Pentagon; Chief, Integration Comptroller Directorate, Office of the Chief, Army Reserve, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Assistant Chief of Staff (G8), 11th Aviation Command; Command Inspector General and Deputy Command Inspector General, 4th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary); Funding and Operations/Training Officer, 336th FMC; Assistant Brigade S3/Training Officer, 266th Finance Command (FINCOM); S1-Adjutant, 336th FINCOM; Detachment Commander, 348 th Personnel Group; Company Commander and Operations Officer, 194th Replacement Company; and Disbursing Officer, 336th FINCOM.

Col. Perryman is a graduate of the Finance Officer Basic Course, Adjutant General Advanced Course, Commanders Pre-Command Course, Combined Arms Exercise Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Anti-Terrorism Program Managers Course, Appropriations Law Course, Inspector General Course, Reserve Component Theater Sustainment Course, Command and General Staff College, DOD Joint Inspector General Course, Senior Transportation Qualification Course, the U.S. Army War College, an the Action Officer Integration Course. He holds an associate degree in English, a bachelor’s degree in educational psychology from McNeese State University, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix, and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College.

Col. Perryman’s military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (one OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (one OLC), National Defense Service Medal (one OLC), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (one OLC), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (one OLC), Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M (Mobilized) device, Overseas Training Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and the Louisiana National Guard War Cross.
