    In April 2019, Command Sgt. Maj. Kristal Florquist assumed responsibility as the Command Sergeant Major of the 75th Innovation Command. Command Sgt. Maj. Florquist enlisted in the Colorado Army National Guard as a Military Policeman. She transferred to the Army Reserve in June 1999. In her capacity, Command Sgt. Maj. Florquist carries out policies and standards on performance, training, appearance and conduct of Soldiers. She also advises the command and staff on all Soldier matters, particularly those areas affecting training, leader development, mobilization, employer support, family readiness and support and quality of life. 

     Command Sgt. Maj. Florquist has held several key NCO positions: Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant/Sergeant Major and Command Sergeant Major, Her previous include Command Sergeant Major, Army Reserve Sustainment Command; Command Sergeant Major, 2nd Brigade, Pacific Training Division, 75th Training Command; Command Sergeant Major, 1st Brigade (PD), 104th Division; Command Sergeant Major, Special Operations Theater Support Element, U.S. Army Special Operations Command (Kuwait); Operations Sergeant Major, 164th Corps Support Group, Mesa, Ariz.; Operations Sergeant Major, 6th Brigade/104th Division, Aurora, Colo.; First Sergeant, Headquarters & Headquarters Detachment, 6th Brigade/104th Division, Aurora, Colo.; Brigade S4 Noncommissioned Officer, 169th Field Artillery, Aurora, Colo.; Operations NCO/PSG, 220th Military Police Company, Denver, Colo. 


      Command Sgt. Maj. Florquist's military education includes the Nominative Leader Course, Carlisle, Penn.; Keystone Course, Ft. McNair, Washington, D.C.; Garrison Command Sergeants Major Course, Fort Belvoir, Va.; U.S. Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, Texas First Sergeants Course, Camp Williams, Utah; Advanced NCO Course, Fort Lee, Va.; Basic NCO Officer Course, Golden, Colo.; Primary Leadership Development Course, Fort Carson, Colo. 

     Command Sgt. Maj. Florquist is currently pursuing a PhD in Organizational and Leadership Development at the University of the Rockies in Denver. In 2012, she received her M.S. in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University, W. Va. In 1988, she received a B.S. in Business Development from the University of Phoenix in Denver, Colo. That same year, Command Sgt. Maj. Florquist also holds a Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Certification from Arapahoe Community College, LIttleton, Colo. 

      Command Sgt. Maj. Florquist's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (4), Army Commendation Medal (6), Army Achievement Medal (3), Army Good Conduct Medal (3), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (3), National Defense Service Medal (3), Outstanding Volunteer Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with "M" (Mobilized) device, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Overseas Training Ribbon (3). 
     
      Her military campaigns include Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
