In honor of Veterans Day, Maj. Gen. Michelle Link commanding general, 75th U.S. Army Reserve Innovation Command, expresses her gratitude for all who served in America's armed forces.

During a tour of a U.S. defense contractor's test site conducted Sept. 16, 2024, at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona, Army Maj. David L. Rasmussen, innovation officer with Detachment E, Army Applications Group, 75th U.S. Army Reserve Innovation Command, learns about the functions and capabilities of a prototype instrumental panel designed to control multiple unmanned aerial vehicles. Approximately 10 Soldiers from the 75th USARIC participated in EDGE24, an Army exercise focused on integrating unmanned systems, data-sharing innovations and network resilience to strengthen air-combat capabilities in complex environments. Through direct collaboration with industry experts at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona, the Soldiers provided frontline insights to refine these cutting-edge technologies, bridging the gap between concept and real-world application.

On Thursday, July 10, celebrity Chef Robert Irvine, founder of the Robert Irvine Foundation and longtime advocate for military health and wellness, visited Fort Belvoir to engage directly with Service members on issues of nutrition, fitness, and quality of life.

Command Sgt. Maj. Jamie Rogers, assigned to the Army Reserve Careers Counselor Group (ARCG), pins Sgt. 1 Class David Farr with the Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) after the awards dinner with the ARCG cadres and squad competitors during the 2025 Combined Best Squad Competition (CBSC) at Fort Knox, Ky., on May 11, 2025. Sgt. 1 Class Farr receives the ARCOM for performing exceptional service and achieving outstanding results during the CBSC. 

The Army Reserve Careers Group (ARCG), headquartered at Fort Knox, Kentucky, supports U.S. Army Reserve end strength by retaining Soldier talent and assisting transitions from other Army components. With more than 1,750 Soldiers across 13 battalions worldwide, ARCG manages career progression, reenlistments, officer accessions, and career counseling. The command provides resilient, disciplined leaders of character and delivers skill-rich operational forces to Combatant Commanders through targeted retention and transition programs.

Excellence under pressure: Sgt. 1st Class David D. Farr named ARCG’s NCO of the Year

In a force defined by discipline and dedication, one Soldier stood out among the ranks. Sgt. 1st Class David D. Farr, a career counselor with the Army Reserve Careers Group (ARCG), earned the title of Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) of the Year, an achievement that highlights not just personal excellence, but the enduring strength of the Army Reserve’s NCO corps.

U.S. Army Sgt. Anna Arthur, assigned to the 409th Medical Company (Area Support), a U.S. Army Reserve unit assigned to the 807th Theater Support Command and U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Price, assigned to the 945th Forward Resuscitative Surgical Detachment, 807th TMC, assist medics from the Armed Forces of Senegal in placing a simulated casualty onto a litter during a multinational mass casualty training event at Centre d’Entraînement Tactique 2 (CET2) in Dodji, Senegal, May 12, 2025. The training reinforced interoperability and emergency response coordination among Dutch, Senegalese and U.S. forces during African Lion 2025 (AL25). AL25, the largest annual military exercise in Africa, brings together over 50 nations, including seven NATO allies and 10,000 troops to conduct realistic, dynamic and collaborative training in an austere environment that intersects multiple geographic and functional combatant commands. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) on behalf of U.S. Africa Command, AL25 takes place from April 14 to May 23, 2025, across Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia.
