Recently, PulseTech® Products Corporation released The U.S. Army Battery Maintenance Management Program (BMMP) (May 23). The BMMP has a lot of useful info about batteries and battery maintenance.
However, on page 11 of the BMMP it tells you that when you order battery 6TAGM MILSPEC with NSN 6140-01-485-1472 you could receive any of the three (3) batteries shown below from DLA:
NSN 6140-01-485-1472 applies to all three of these batteries
The BMMP states that these batteries are authorized to be mixed. Is that really correct?
Sergeant A.C.
Dear Sergeant,
Better safe than sorry. The short answer is yes. According to TACOM, they can be mixed or matched. It’s also true that when you order NSN 6140-01-485-1472, you’ll get any one of the three batteries and if you order three batteries, you could get one of each. It simply depends on what DLA has on hand at the time you place the order.
