A Walk with the Vikings: Kabul Security Force march for tradition

Members of the Kabul Security Force, including Soldiers with the U.S., U.K., Denmark, Mongolia, and civilian contractors, march together in the grueling 25 kilometer Danish Contingent “Dancon” March on April 6, 2018 in Kabul, Afghanistan, as part of a 45-year tradition with the Danish Defence that represents the Royal Danish Army’s deployment to Cyprus in 1972. The march requires service members to conduct the march in their field uniform and carry a pack that weighs at least 22 pounds. Soldiers and civilians with the KSF are deployed in support of the NATO-led train, advise and assist Resolute Support Mission.
