The Multinational Battlegroup –East (MNBG-E) and North Macedonia’s Armed Forces’ relationship is an important, mature partnership. Exercises like this one enhance that relationship and strengthen interoperability.
The training exercise takes place from March 1-30, 2019, at the Krivolak Training Area (KTA) in the Republic of North Macedonia.

Participating units from MNBG-East include: Hawaii Army National Guard’s 29th Infantry Brigade Combat Team; 1st Squadron, 89 Cavalry, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry); Tennessee Army National Guard’s 1-230th Aviation Regiment; 720th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company and 7th Army Training Command.
Other coordinating agencies include: U.S. Embassy, North Macedonia, Ministry of Defence and the Republic of North Macedonia Army. We are grateful for their coordination and support!
The purpose of this joint training exercise is to enhance readiness, and foster professional relationships and interoperability between North Macedonia’s military forces, NATO partners, and the United States Army. Interoperability simply means learning to work together as a combined team by sharing tactics, techniques and procedures.

We are all stewards of our environment and MNBG-E Soldiers are committed to maintaining a clean environment wherever we leave a footprint. We have dedicated time to ensure we clean up the range area upon completion of the exercises.
