Amid the dust and dry grass fields of Fort Hunter Liggett, California, stands two Army field hospitals in a tent city built from the ground up by its medical and support personnel. The medical professionals from the 807th Medical Command (deployment support) arrived in late June to set up their medical operations which are observed and evaluated by Army Reserve Medical Command’s observer-coach trainers. Medical Readiness Training Command, or MRTC, annually hosts Global Medic at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. This year, the 228th and the 396th Combat Support Hospitals as well as several of their subordinate medical units, have come to be tested in a realistic training environment that prepares them for combat operations and supporting the warfighter.
