Nov. 7, 2019 | 2:40
United States Army Reserve Soldier, Maj. Nick Liermann not only serves as a lawyer for the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, but is also the founder of Team Foster, a tax-exempt non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and rehabilitating injured combat veterans. Team Foster honors the spirit and sacrifice of Captain Erick Foster, who was killed while engaging enemy forces in 2007 in Iraq. The organization raises money to partner service dogs with veterans throughout the Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey area suffering from combat-related disabilities including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Dogs are obtained, cared for, and provided a special training team at no cost to veterans in the region. (U.S. Army Reserve Video by Staff Sgt. Rodney Roldan)
