Hobbyists: Unpredictable Terrain

Unpredictable terrain could define the journey of military service members as they encounter unknown obstacles and changes throughout their careers. Here is a story, in the Hobbyists Series, of a Miami-based Coast Guard avionics electrical technician (AET), who applies the mentality of running Cross Country to her everyday Coast Guard career.

Hobbyists is a video series, which highlights the activities and hobbies of the U.S. service members outside of work. Unpredictable Terrain highlights Petty Officer 3rd Class Stephanie “Steph” Irazarry, an AET with Coast Guard Air Station Miami, and her passion for running. Irazarry made the 2017 All Navy Cross Country team who competed in the 2017 USA Track & Field Cross Country Championship in Bend, Oregon.

Irazarry placed 3rd with the All Navy Cross Country Team, took 11th place for the overall military category and 49th place in the senior women category in the competition.
