U.S. Coast Guard District 14 Hawaii Pacific

U.S. Coast Guard partnered with wildlife subject matter experts to translocate 28 Laysan ducks from Midway Atoll to Kure Atoll. The purpose of the mission was to help inhabit a third lowland island with the endangered species of duck. The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Kukui transported the ducks and the scientists between the atolls. Video by Staff Sgt. Chris Hubenthal. Available in high definition.
