Tech Warrior Participant Spotlight - Roam Robotics
Air Force Research Laboratory
Aug. 6, 2020 | 2:17
Roam Robotics, a small business located in San Francisco, California, has developed a lightweight and inexpensive knee exoskeleton for applications in the health, military, and recreational sectors. One potential use is for firefighters, improving endurance and assisting them in carrying heavy equipment and gear, especially up and down multistory buildings. What makes Roam's technology very unique is implementing the use of lightweight inexpensive materials, soft robotics, and air pressure instead of heavier and expensive motors at the joints.
