Sgt. Jeffrey M. Rose, assigned to 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division received the Soldier's Medal during an award presentation ceremony at Simmons Army Airfield, Fort Bragg, N.C., Jan. 26.
Sgt. Rose was awarded the medal for acts of heroism when he pulled an unconscious man from a vehicle after a multi-vehicle collision on Dec. 5, 2016. (U.S. Army video by Sgt. Steven Galimore, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade)
"The Soldier's Medal is awarded to any person of the Armed Forces of the United States or of a friendly foreign nation who, while serving in any capacity with the Army of the United States, including Reserve Component soldiers not serving in a duty status at the time of the heroic act, distinguished himself or herself by heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy."
