Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Supports Large Scale Exercise 2023
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division
Aug. 15, 2023 | 2:29
Naval Surface Warfare Center, (NSWC) Corona Division supports Large Scale Exercise (LSE) 2023 Aug. 9-18, 2023 in Norfolk, Virginia. NSWC Corona Division was a key component to the exercise as the engineering agent that operates, maintains and builds upon the Navy Continuous Training Environment, the backbone that enables Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training and interconnects exercise participants.
The NCTE network, an IP-based telecommunication suite that provides voice, video, audio and a number of software programs and systems that provide the fleet with a common operational picture, allows America's warfighters to train like they fight. NSWC Corona's support and NCTE capabilities facilitated efficient information sharing and coordination among Navy and Marine personnel for the exercise, supporting effective joint planning and enhanced overall operational effectiveness.
LSE 2023 brought together the combined power of the Navy and Marine Corps team across six maritime component commands, seven numbered fleets, and 22 time zones. The exercise merged real-world operations with LVC-enabled virtually constructed scenarios to create a realistic training environment that allows our Sailors and Marines to train the way we fight, regardless of geographic boundaries. LSE 2023 was the second iteration of this exercise and built upon lessons learned from LSE 2021 and warfighting concepts refined through Fleet Battle Problems.
