Exploring Our Nation's Dams
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters
Dec. 2, 2021 | 2:47
There are more than 92,000 dams across the U.S. and its territories. Each dam is uniquely designed and managed to offer a variety of benefits such as reducing the risk of flooding, supporting navigation, supplying water for drinking and irrigation, providing power, offering recreation opportunities, creating space for fish and wildlife, and helping manage waste.
