Soldiers from the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) place U.S. flags at every gravesite as part of "Flags In" at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., Thursday, May 22, 2025. As the Army’s official ceremonial unit and the oldest active-duty infantry regiment, The Old Guard is the only unit traditionally authorized to perform this solemn duty, honoring each fallen service member with precision and reverence ahead of Memorial Day.
