Marines from the 3rd Marine Raider Battalion perform a hostage rescue mission at Camp Shelby, Mississippi during Southern Strike 18, October 27, 2017. Exercise Southern Strike 18 is a total force, multi-service training exercise hosted by the Mississippi Air National Guard's Combat Readiness Training Center in Gulfport, Mississippi, Oct. 23-Nov. 4, 2017. The SSTK18 exercise emphasized air-to-air, air-to-ground and special operations forces training opportunities. These events are integrated into demanding hostile ad asymmetric scenarios with actions from specialized ground forces and combat and mobility air forces. (U.S. Air Force video by SrA Megan Mallory)
