Feather Identification
Air Force Safety Center
Aug. 1, 2018 | 0:59
Dr. Love visits with Dr. Carla Dove at the Smithsonian Institution Feather Identification Lab and learns how the lab assists the Air Force in identifying bird remains after bird strikes. The Bird/Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) team and the wildlife biologists can take the information obtained during this process to identify and mitigate bird habitats around the airfields resulting in reduced risk to aircraft.
