Of Warriors & Hackers

Army Reserve innovators gathered in Houston for a Code-A-Thon that began July 17, 2023. The intent of the Code-A-Thon was to build planning capabilities and host similar technology events in the future. The Code-A-Thon was hosted by the 75th Innovation Command with about 30 in attendance, along with members from the U.S. Army Futures Command and the XVIII Airborne Corps. The Army Reserve Soldiers leveraged their industry expertise in labeling operations; data science; and tech and engineering backgrounds to solve real-world Army problems.

From Enlisted Soldier to Commissioned Officer: Perseverance Led to Direct Commissioning

Venkatesh Srinivasan woke up and put on his uniform on June 25, 2023, with the rank of specialist in the Army Reserve, and by the end of that morning, he was pinned captain bars. Srinivasan had persevered through a long journey to get his commission. Members of the 75th Innovation Command had the opportunity to witness a rare moment when Maj. Gen. Martin Klein, Commanding General of the 75th Innovation Command, presided over the ceremony as Srinivasan repeated the Oath of Office.

75th Innovation Command brings unique skills to EDGE 23

When Innovation Takes Flight 75th IC Soldiers took their ideas to the skies over the Yuma desert during #EDGE23, a three-week event that brought Army Futures Command’s Future Vertical Lift Cross-Functional Team and industry and international partners together to work through network connectivity, frequency communication and flying maneuvers. The event culminated with a live capabilities demonstration for senior leaders and members of Congress.

Surge & Solve (Video): XVIII Airborne Corps, 75th Innovation Command rock it at BRAVO Hackathon

Soldiers from the XVIII Airborne Corps and the 75th Innovation Command converged in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, March 20-24 to put their research and development skills to the test during the BRAVO Hackathon, the Department of Defense's premier innovation event where teams work round-the-clock to develop prototypes that solve the military's toughest challenges. For five days, these experts in engineering, data science, machine learning, and project management identified, tested and validated requirements for a "Factory Floor" model that synchronizes information to better construct intuitive Battle Assessment Products that empower commanders to make data-driven decisions that dominate the virtual and physical battlespace. Enduring partnerships such as the one forged between XVIII Airborne Corps and the 75th Innovation Command demonstrate the Army's active and Reserve components' commitment to create streamlined systems that will accomplish any mission, overcome any challenge, and defeat any adversary.
